The Earth Day Festival is finally back after a two-year hiatus. It’s happening from 4-7pm on Wednesday April 20 at Tattnall Square Park. It’s a family event for all ages, and everyone is encouraged to attend. Click here for the event page on Facebook.

“We are so excited to finally bring this festival back after being stalled by the pandemic,” said festival coordinator Rachel Gambill. “Earth Day of course means taking care of our community and our planet, but it also means taking care of ourselves physically and mentally so that we can be better stewards of our planet. We look forward to a day of fun for our families!

The Mulberry Market will be set up, featuring local vendors of fresh produce and other artisan products. Throughout the day there will be giveaways of bikes, fitness and wellness activities, free t-shirts for kids who complete Kids Zone activities, a free game of pickleball at the Tattnall Square Tennis and Pickleball Center, live music from the Dubshak Reggae Band and locals. animal groups will have friendly creatures that everyone can meet. Educational vendors will also be set up so that we can learn about the various green initiatives in our community.

Our recreation department has also planned a calendar of activities so that anyone can participate:

Zumba with Charlie: 3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Yoga with Linda: 4:00 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Acro Kids with Jessica: 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Zumba with shy: 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

There will be a prize giving at 5:30 p.m. and the handing over of the bikes will take place at 6:00 p.m. To see photos and videos from our previous Earth Day events, visit the Facebook page here.
