(MENAFN – Gulf Times) District 116’s F Division recently wrapped up its annual Toastmaster, Flamboyance (TAC-F) 2020-21 conference, live on the Zoom platform. The winners from zones 21, 22, 23 and 24 entered four categories of speech competitions – humorous speech, table topics, assessment and international speech.
The winner of the International Speech can reach the final of the World Speaking Championships in August.
In his opening remarks, Division Director Anil Nair reviewed the accomplishments of Division F since the start of this term.
The event was the result of “excellent teamwork and went smoothly with attention to detail,” a press release noted. Dignitaries like Region 11 Councilor Sunil, District Director Thayalan K, PQD Manzoor Moideen, CGD Rajesh District and other district, division, region and club leaders were in attendance.
The chief justices were Pavitra Philp, Ravi Kumar, Surya Narayan and Shyam Sunder. The competitions were chaired by Biju Davis, Raja, Khorshed, Suganya and Shehariyas. Thirumurugan was the “Zoom Master”, ably supported by various other toastmasters.
The winners of the contests are as follows, with the first place winner mentioned at the beginning of each:
Humorous Ram Mohan Nair, Parveen and Vasuki; Table themes Singaraju, Debasish and Mh Rafi; Kamalesh, Debasish and Parveen assessment; and International Ahamed Sha, Singaraju and Rammohan.
The first place winner in each category will represent the F Division at the Toastmaster 20-21 District Annual Conference in May.
In addition to the competition, a highlight of the event was the keynote address by the inaugural winner of the International Tape Speech Competition in Kenya, Angela Rarieya, and the Banner Parade chaired by Rammakrishan and co-chair Sruthy, Vijay and Bulbul.
The event was attended by around 300 members of the public around the world. TAC-F President Sabari Prasad thanked all the actors, the keynote speaker and the audience for making the event a great success.
