Nature Isle Toast Masters Club elects new executive
The Nature Isle Toastmasters Club (NITC) of Dominica inaugurated its new executive members for the year 2021-2022 on June 24, 2021 after successfully winning the President Distinguished Award for the year 2020/2021 which ended on June 30th.e, 2020.
Our newly elected president, Anthony Durand, along with his executive, has pledged members to continue on the path of continuous improvement to achieve their goals, while keeping in mind Toastmasters core values ​​of integrity, respect, service and excellence. Toastmaster Durand will ensure that NITC brings value to its members through the provision of continuous development training.
The Nature Isle Toastmasters Club provides a learning experience in a supportive environment that enables its members to improve their communication and leadership skills. NITC has once again demonstrated its resilience by overcoming many of the challenges faced during the Covid-19 pandemic. NITC has shown its ability to embrace changing circumstances and seize available opportunities even in times of challenges, to continue meetings via zoom.
This new Zoom environment allowed club members to acquire essential learning to interact virtually with other clubs around the world. The highlight of the virtual experience was the opportunity to attend the International Toastmasters Convention. Toastmasters International President DTM Richard Peck seized the virtual opportunity and was able to visit several clubs during his 2020/2021 reign, including NITC.

For the first time ever, the Nature Isle Toastmasters club will have three of its members as Caribbean leaders in District 81, as regional directors.

As we continue to celebrate our accomplishments, we recognize DTM Rosemary Sweeney who served C Division in District 81 as the Division Director for the year 2020-2021. Another great achievement was that DTM District Director Brenda Maynard, a Dominican from Paix Bouche living in Saint-Martin, was able for the first time to win the highest honor for District 81, the Smedley Distinguished Award. Hats off to DTM IPDD Brenda Maynard.
Toastmasters continues to lead the way in communication and leadership training.
In the future, the club intends to use the hybrid meeting format which offers the possibility for foreign members who cannot meet in person to do so virtually.
