Melfort Toastmasters offers the Speechcraft program, in hopes of becoming a licensed group

Toastmasters International has a presence in over 140 countries and helps people develop communication and leadership skills, among many other skills. Certified Toastmasters groups access all the educational resources they have to offer, including 11 pathways for people to develop their public speaking skills, and more.
âSo that we can officially join this family,â Lee said. âWe need to achieve this official mark of 20 registered members.â
To help spark group interest, Melfort Toastmasters is bringing Speechcraft to the area for those interested.
Lee said Speechcraft is a four week session in Melfort, but it can also be a six or eight week program.
âThe goal is basically to do intensive communication and leadership,â he says. “To help interested people develop their public speaking skills, their ability to give constructive feedback in the form of ratings, and their ability to deal with impromptu speaking.”
Lee added that attendees would improve their ability to speak in public in various ways.
âWith this intensive set of opportunities, you are giving a talk every week,â he said. “You try to express yourself, try to express ideas, talk about what you are passionate about.”
There are three different session groups that people can register for. The first will be lunch time on Monday, the second early in the morning on Tuesday from 6:45 am to 7:45 am, and the other on Thursday from 7 pm to 8 pm, the usual meeting time for the Melfort Toastmasters group. .
Those interested can contact Lee directly at 306-519-5092 or [email protected], or by finding Melfort Toastmasters online and on Facebook.
Speechcraft sessions start on Monday May 31 and will run until June 29.
