District 116, Qatar’s G Division of Toastmasters International hosted a grand celebratory event – ‘SynerG Star Nite’ – to congratulate the stars of the annual G Division Toastmasters Conference and G Division club leaders.

The event took place at Vibrant Trainings Academy, Nuaija, Doha.
The event began with a meeting with the Toastmasters. The division’s first in-person event brought together a number of individuals to collect the rewards they earned in the series of divisional and region-level contests held between January and March.
Opening the celebration, G Division Manager Alar Mel Mangai thanked and appreciated the efforts of the club’s leaders for the smooth running of the competitions and making G Division a Distinguished Division of the President.
Previously, the division held its annual conference – “SynerG 2022” – in March via the Zoom online platform. The two-day conference featured a series of Toastmasters speech contests in four different categories: Humor, Evaluation, Table Topics and International.
The online event attracted over 100 attendees on both days.
Champion speakers who had previously won at club and region level competed for the divisional championship.
The first-place winners will represent the division at the district-level conference to be held May 13-14 at the Torch Doha.
The winners who will represent Division G in the Grand Finals are Toastmasters Jacintha Mani, Malathy Sudararaj, Mou Bera, and Rinku Saha in the Rating, Humor, Table Topics, and International Speech contests, respectively.
District Manager Manzoor Moideen, Club Growth Manager Ravishankar J, Past District Manager Thayalan K and Beena Manzoor congratulated all the winners and addressed the assembly.
Attendees included Division ExCom leaders – Rinku Saha, Salman Hilmi, Zone 26 Director Shameer PH, Zone 28 Director Deepti Potnis, Admin Director/Chairman of ‘SynerG 2022’ Bindu Pillai , TLI President Nalini Mathur, Awards President Ritu Maheswari, IT Manager Felipe Catinoy and many club presidents and leaders.
The fun event lasted two hours amid cheers and applause for the winners.
Earlier, G Division Manager Alar Mel Mangai, who was instrumental in organizing the event, officially opened the meeting and welcomed the audience.
Conference Chair Bindu Pillai and her “SynerG” team including Toastmasters Shameer PH, Salman, Nazik, Filpe Catinoy, Muthalib, Shameena, Michelle, Ritu, Rihan, Fawzan, Yuconne, Mohd Azeez, Shyam, Swapna and many more contributed to the smooth running of the event.
The event ended after the winners were announced with a thank you note from Alar Mel Mangai.
